Take the train

"I love to take the train around Morecambe Bay, I just sit back and watch the views go by"

This quote from one of our visitors says it all - taking the train is one of the best ways to travel around the Bay!

Many share the view that it is easier and quicker than by car, as well as being a great experience in itself. The coastal railway line connects Barrow with Heysham (via Lancaster) with town and village stations linking you with special places around the Bay. The track cuts right across the sands  in some spots and the journey offers stunning views.

The Furness Line Community Rail Partnership involves local authorities and communities in managing and promoting the line.
