Help look after the Morecambe Bay area by getting involved in practical management of our special habitats. In June 52 people did just that and volunteered to help with a 'Big Wild Stocktake' at RSPB Leighton Moss reserve. The stocktake sought  to see how many species could be recorded in one day. A whopping 702 species were recorded. Volunteers helped with everything from finding, spotting, identifying, recording, enthusing, car parking.

So if you fancy getting involved, partner organisations run regular volunteer events throughout the area, including Arnside & Silverdale AONB, Butterfly Conservation, Cumbria Wildlife Trust, Lancashire Wildlife Trust, Morecambe Bay Partnership, RSPB and Wyre Borough Council. There is something for everyone, from beach cleans, to grassland and reedbed planting, to surveying wildlife, and scrub clearance and coppicing.
